April 4 Westside Art Openings+

Speculative Frictions is a group show by Orphan Drift, Caspar Heinemann, Emily Jones, Ranu Mukherjee, Lisa Radon, and Stephanie Simek. "The title for this research-centric group show was inspired by poet Joan Retallack’s idea of a 'poethical wager on the Experimental Feminine.' Contrasted with the scientific method’s focus on testable propositions, this wager proceeds according to what Retallack calls 'a feminine dyslogic.'” At PDX Contemporary Art www.pdxcontemporaryart.com 925 NW Flanders Map early close 8PM Free

In the Nines, backside, is a meditation on maps and immigration. It's straight graphic work, a break from his kinetics. But he is sampling the emotion about the issue, which has its own energy.
