The Best Truth We Got is an accessible show of light and glass by Elias Hansen. It's beautiful and playful in a Sottsass-Memphis way.

Perfect for a glass town, though we are very serious, serious, serious, very, about our cast glass, unlike aesthetically light as a feather Seattle blown glass.

April 7 Converge

A long time ago, contemporary art was downgraded at the Portland Art Museum by entering director John Buchanan. John Weber went to SFMOMA and Kristy Edmunds founded PICA. Many would say that PICA absent Edmunds has lost its groove. A few years ago, Portland arts supporters engaged Edmunds again to form Converge 45. Edmunds has now passed curation of the project to Lisa Dent from NYC. Dent speaks this afternoon. At the Portland Art Museum - NW Film Center Whitsell Auditorium 1219 SW Park 2PM Free

Speculative Frictions is a group show by Orphan Drift, Caspar Heinemann, Emily Jones, Ranu Mukherjee, Lisa Radon, and Stephanie Simek. "The title for this research-centric group show was inspired by poet Joan Retallack’s idea of a 'poethical wager on the Experimental Feminine.' Contrasted with the scientific method’s focus on testable propositions, this wager proceeds according to what Retallack calls 'a feminine dyslogic.'” At PDX Contemporary Art www.pdxcontemporaryart.com 925 NW Flanders Map early close 8PM Free
