The backyard of River Studios is a special art spot in Portland Summer. It's on the river, often adjacent to a giant parking spot for ocean-going grain freighters, exporting our wheat to Asia. It was the site of the first PICA Dada Ball, graced with a naked Lady Godiva on a white horse. This won't be that, but it will be a dance performance on scaffolding by the Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre/Northwest and the Painted Sky Northstar Dance Company. At River Studios 820 N. In the mall... Place, in the white Gallery has Distance, Stance, Circumstance, curated by Rachael Wilson from NYU. It includes five artists from New York. The Place black gallery has It Is What It Is solo and collaborative work by Katie Dunbar & Elizabeth J. Armstrong.
