Sun Ra's movie Space is the Place is a classic of Afrofuturism worth the time. In that era he taught a class at UC Berkeley entutled The Black Man in the Cosmos. I would love to see the class materials for that. There is a new documentry too, Sun Ra: Do the Impossible by Christine Turner. See it when you can.
