The Portland Synth Library is a successful project of Felisha Ledesma https://felishaledesma.com/. An early project was the Multiplex Gallery https://portlandorusnow.blogspot.com/search?q=multiplex in the Everett Station Lofts. The Synth Library continued as she moved to LA, the UK, and Berlin establishing her career.

February 9 Happy Place
KSMOCA is a happy story. The King K-5 Portland Public School is just off NE Alberta at 6th. Parents banded together to make it an art magnet school. One of the student projects is to curate their own gallery at the school, including the work of established contemporary artists. Contemporary artists work with the students on their own projects. The Littman and White Gallery hosts a show curated by a 5th grader from King. It opens tonight.

The Cascade Festival of African Films is a favorite event. It is Friday and Saturday, and some Thursdays, showing films from all over Africa.
They have a mix of stream at home and in-person showings.
Every single one of the films is free!
Most are shown on the PCC Cascade Campus on N Killingsworth. The opening night is at the Hollywood Theater, also free.
The PCC Library maintains a copy of all the films shown over 30 years for in-library viewing.
