July 7 Eastside Art Openings

Newspace Center for Photography permanently closes tonight. They continue 2 weeks of scheduled youth classes. They homed a community, created a place for learning and experimenting, they curated great shows.



Object Memory is a show by Eli Coplan, Addie Lehuauakea Fernandez and Kalaija Mallery. Inspired by shape memory metal alloys, the show captures the interpretations by the artists of memory projected into space and shapes returning to form after deformation. The show in a basement gallery is curated by Tessa Bolsover. Recommended. Further West is a show of staged photographs by Mako Miyamoto who works in the ad agency world. His conceit is masks on models, including of the Wookie from Star Wars.
