Portland City Planning is considered a model for the nation. Our demographics, economics and the tradition of neighborhood involvement work with that. Tonight, Design Within Reach presents a discussion with Arun Jain, Chief Urban Planner at the City. Key challenges are where to grow and how to keep the city a place people want to live and work. Jain came to Portland in that role in 2003 with Ivy planning degrees and ten years of teaching at Berkeley.
