October 17 Wild Wild West

The Western fiction is something built over years of writing and filmmaking. Early short works captured the oral narratives circulating in the US. But at each turn since, like the oral narratives, they were enhanced and exaggerated. Until today in film they have become parodies of themselves - see the film The Quick and The Dead, and there are novels in the same vein, like Robert Coover's Ghost Town. Artist Donald Morgan presents High Noon, contemporary sculptures and paintings inspired in an abstract way by Ghost Town.
