February 3 Black America and the World

Portland photographer Intisar Abioto shows The Black, portraits from around the world, tonight.

She is known for her photo essays Black Portlanders and State of Black Oregon: photographs and accompanying personal narratives. This project includes portraits from three continents, seven countries and eighteen cities.

She is a Renaissance woman www.creativemornings.com/talks/intisar-abioto/1 photographer, writer poet, performer and modern dancer.

The exhibition opening is followed by a talk: A Deeper Black: Race in America by Ta-Nehisi Coates. He speaks in Eugene, with the talk simulcast to the Portland UO meeting room.
