October 5 Saturday Art is Not Boring

Mark Flores and William E. Jones have Perverted By Language. It's pop culture-inspired graphic-reduced portrait work in the Private Places conceptual curation lens. At Private Places www.privateplaces.us 2400 Holliday 5PM-7 Free

Jeremy Le Grand has Genesis Lobby. The artist is known for op art raster pieces, silhouettes and bulbous sculptures. From the gallery description it's hard to tell which this work will be. At Carnation Contemporary www.carnationcontemporary.com in the Disjecta building 8371 N Interstate. 6PM-9

The Mobile Projection Unit continues the RACC projection series, now driven by individual artists.

Mobile Projection Unit projects at the East Portland Arts & Literary Festival tonight. There is an interactive component, participants can draw on projections. Artist Sabrina Haque projects historic images of neighborhood residents involuntarily camped in WW2 because they were Japanese Americans.

There are many artists and readers involved in the East Portland Arts & Literary Festival. We frown on their suggested $5 donation. I believe the APNO location is more free.

The event is split between APNO 8188 SE Division and Fubon 2850 SE 82nd. Details https://www.apano.org/ampsummerseries.

Projections sunset. At APNO 8188 SE Division. Free
