July 18! Contingent Evolution

Wouldn't it be amazing to live in an 800 year old manor, practice your art there, and invite people from around the world to join you? That is Schloss Bröllin, in the former East Germany. It's been taken over by artists and this year they are organizing their 6th international performance workshop and festival,!.

Portland performers Meshi Chavez and Stephanie Lanckton have been incorporating the Japanese dance form butoh into their work. They present a benefit performance tonight, Bröllin Voyage!, with dancers Mizu Desierto, Tahni Holt, Jim McGinn, Tracy Broyles, Lisa DeGrace; as well as performances by Lanckton and Chavez themselves.

It is a benefit will help to offset their travel expenses to participate in! There will be cocktails, drinks, food and a dance party after the performance.

Bröllin Voyage! at the Headwaters Theater, hosted by 55 NE Farragut St. #9. The theater is in the back of the building by the active railroad tracks facing Winchell Street. Map 7PM-9 Performance, Dance party to 11. $25-100

Cedar jocks has a video installation Contingent Memory and Sergei Khlopoff has paintings Alternate Evolutions." They open tonight. At the Mark Woolley Gallery a gallery on the 3rd floor of the Pioneer Place Mall, with the People's art of Portland opening at the same time. If the mall appears closed, enter the film theater building adjacent, travel through the tunnel to the Place mall, and take the elevator to the 3rd floor, sometimes the bridge on the 3rd floor is open too. 700 SW Fifth 5PM-9 Free
