April 30 Post-structuralist Reading Party

Philosophy and metaphysics, as we know it on the Left Coast, seemed to spring forth simultaneously in Greece, Nepal and China about 2500 years ago. The English had a running start about 800 years ago, the Germans had an impact in the 19th century. But it is the French who have dominated the 20th. One, Michel Foucault, has inspired the small Mother Foucault's Bookshop. It is the place for this afternoon's Silent Reading Party.

Bring a book to read, silently. No talking. This is a very small venue, and you might bring a cushion, blanket of chair of your own. This week there will be cookies for sale, you might sneak in a drink. Silent Reading Party www.silentreadingpartypdx.com at Mother Foucault's Bookshop 523 SE Morrison 3PM-5 Free
