The first Butoh was made in Japan in 1959. The creators, men, realized that women would have their own angle. So women soon joined performances and the rest is history. Performers Joan Laage from Seattle, Krakow, Seoul and Nicole LeGette from Chicago are here for only two nights, late. It is in the intimate performance space at Disjecta, The Headwaters.
