If you happen to be in New York, Virgin Writes is a butoh performance tonight. It is based on the myth of Iphigenia, princess of Argos, in the Iliad, who is condemned to death for sins of her father, to be carried out by his hand.
The lyrics are written and sung by Esperanza Spalding, the music composed and performed live by Yuka C. Honda of Cibo Matto, the movement directed and performed by Vangeline.
