May 3-5 Assembly

Assembly is the PSU social practice art final project. It's free and participatory.

Friday

4:00-6:00pm: Harrison Park Elementary School (2225 SE 87th Ave, Portland, OR 97216) will host an Harrison Park School Interplanetary Contemporary Art Fair sponsored by Imagination Academy with Students at Harrison Park School, The Living School of Art, Mudland, Tiny Gallery, Real Food Faux Truck Food Truck, Elijah Turner-Nelson, and KSMoCA.

6:30-8pm: Canton Grill (2610 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97266) Salty Xi Jie Ng and Eric John Olson will host a performative research tasting experience exploring the relationship between migration and food. (Small plates only; bring cash for additional food and drinks)

8-9pm: Karaoke of course

Saturday, May 4th, 2019

Mt. Scott Community Center (5530 SE 72nd Ave, Portland, OR 97206) will host a day-long (10am-6:30pm) series of physical activities, workshops and participatory projects- mapping the neighborhood, games, mindfulness boxing, time capsules, housing self-defense, and more.

10:30-11:30am - Mapping the neighborhood through resident’s personal stories about different places by Anupam Singh
11:45-12:45pm - Conscious Contact by Nola Hanson with Tia Kramer
12:45-1:30pm Lunch
1:30-2:30pm - Games People Play by Shoshana Gugenheim
2:45-3:45pm - Tomorrow's Time Capsule by Jordan Rosenblum
4:00-5:00pm - Tenant Self-Defense with the Office of Speculative Neighborship with Zeph Fishlyn and Eric John Olson
5:15-6:15pm - Physical Education workshop with keyon gaskin and Takahiro Yamamoto hosted by Spencer Byrne-Seres, Shoshana Gugenheim, Salty Xi Jie Ng and Anupam Singh

Ongoing throughout the day - SoFA Journal reading nook hosted by Spencer Byrne-Seres, Eric John Olson and Tia Kramer.

Social Forms of Art (SoFA) Journal will launch its latest issue, Recreation. Issues available throughout the weekend.

Following the days events Assembly Brewing (6112 SE Foster Road, Portland, OR 97206) will host the launch of "Social Practice Term Definitions" project from 6:30-8pm

10:30-11:45am - At Harrison Park (near Harrison Park Elementary, 1931 SE 84th Ave, Portland, OR 97216) Scores for Psychological Space, with Carlos Reynoso, Jordan Rosenblum, Nola Hanson, Brianna Ortega.

12-1:30pm - At Panaderia Mexicana 5 De Mayo (1134 SE 82nd Ave, Portland OR 97216) Carlos Reynoso presents his new project, La Frontera: Una Conversación, with food provided by his celebrated vegan taqueria, Mis Tacones.

1:45-2:45pm -At Harrison Park (near Harrison Park Elementary, 1931 SE 84th Ave, Portland, OR 97216) Play & Work by Brianna Ortega and Students of Harrison Park School.

3:00-6:00pm - At A1 Birdbath (8560 SE Division St, Portland, OR 97266): A celebration of the life of beloved Portland sculptor, Jim Gion, with snacks, presentations, dog portraits by Roz Crews, Jim's art, a clay workshop hosted by Amanda Leigh Evans and dog themed events (he sculpted over 1000 animal portraits during his life!) hosted by Stefan Kovatchev of A1 Birdbath, Zeph Fishlyn, Tia Kramer, Eric John Olson, Artist Michael Bernard Stevenson Jr, Roshani Thakore and Artist Matoska
