August 12 Stephen Slappe at Grand Detour

Grand Detour continues its summer screening series with the films of Stephen Slappe. Local art prof Slappe reprises his Shelter In Place, an ambitious three screen memoir of the mediasphere of his youth, using vintage footage of the time. The work could only have been made possible by Ruth Ann Brown's Couture series of installation commissions, where the work showed first. Slappe is easily the most successful Portland artist working in multi-screen video. Smart work. At Grand Detour, 215 SE Morrison Street, Suite 2020. 8PM Arrive within 15 minutes of start for admission due to building security.
