February 21 Sound Design & Vision

IDEO should need no introduction to people in the design world. Building on innovations in Berkeley's department of anthropology and PARC, it launched in 1991. It has spread the human-centered design philosophy worldwide, especially through its connection with the Stanford d.school. Tonight one of their design directors speaks in Portland. David Aycan is focused on business design, an interest of mine. Business design uses design thinking to design the total business, or redesign the business. Some people think business is boring. Only boring business is boring. Talk at PNCA www.pnca.edu 1241 NW Johnson Map 7PM Free

May Juliette Barruel curates an evening of music and visuals tonight. It's the third in Nationale's Sound & Vision series. The lineup is impressive: Tunnels (Nick Bindeman), Cloaks (Spencer Doran + Ryan Carlile), Entity (Birch Cooper + Warren Lee) and films by Brenna Murphy.
