March 9 Evening Ragas

Ragas are a perfect ritual for Spring ahead. Ustad Aashish Khan performs evening ragas on sarod, accompanied by Pranesh Khan on tabla. Both are musical descendants of Baba Allauddin Khan and Ustad Ali Akbar Kahn. Both relocated to the San Francisco Bay area, and both have collaborated extensively with Western musicians. Here is a late night rag in which they play together, Darbari Kanada.
