April 7 Westside Art Openings

Ema are small wood plaques found at Shinto shrines in Japan. Visitors make a donation to the shrine for a wish - 願意, then write that wish on the ema.

For this show artists AJ Fosik, Maryanna Hoggatt, Eric Wert, Nosego, Ben Venom, Casey Weldon, Souther Salazar, Olivia Knapp, Jon MacNair, Mary Iverson, Robert Bowen, Jesse Hazelip, Karilise Alexander, Andrew Schoultz, Josh Keyes, Stephanie Buer, KozynDan, Zach Johnsen, Ren Sakurai, Yoskay Yamamoto, Koralie, Jean Jullien, Amandine Urruty, Nicolas Barrome, Alexone, Koleo, JM Ouvry, Haroshi, Tamaki Mori, Nino, MHAK, Renan Santos, Heather Mclean, Kojiro Ankan Takukawa, Ewa Prończuk-Kuziak, Peca, Joram Roukes, Dilka Bear, SAL Jeff P and Yu Maeda have used about 4"x6" ema as their canvas. This show is a followup to a similar show at Hellion Tokyo.

Amanda Harman has Garden Stories, Hidden Labours, intimate garden landscapes. Documentary photographer Peter Brown Leighton has Man Lives Through Plutonium Blast. It is the title of one of his photographs and one of the greatest ever show titles. At Blue Sky Gallery map 122 NW 8th 6PM-9 Free

Guilty Pleasures is a show by Jay Muhlin, themed on being snowed in in Syracuse, NY. I guess we have something similar bring rained in. At Duplex Collective 219 NW Couch 6PM-9 Free
